WH2O on CBS News
CBS Evening News correspondent Sandra Hughes stopped by the West Hollywood Pool an interviewed a few of our swimmers on deck about "The Phelps And Torres Effect". After stunning swims over and record ratings for swimming CBS News asks if this new found love of swimming will last.

"I have had a number of friends who've asked me about it in the last week," said swimmer Brian Olver.
"I've been really focusing on my technique and some of the things I've seen from the top swimmers," said Amy Dantzler, who practices at West Hollywood Aquatics.

SPMA LCM Regional Championships Recap
Congrats to the Joel, Gregg, Carole and Jessica for incredible showings at this past weekends SPMA LCM Regional Championships in Thousand Oaks. Considering right now WH2O isn't swimming at any long course pools everyone from WH2O had great swims. Just think how much faster they'd all would have been if they had been training long course, Here are the results:

Long Course Season is almost over and that means it's almost time for the SPMA Regional Long Course Championships.
Entry deadline is coming up fast. Here is the info: Flat fee of $40.00 if postmarked on or before Tuesday, July 22nd. Entries postmarked or submitted after midnight on July 22nd will be subject to a $10.00 late fee. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE REJECTED IF NOT RECEIVED BY 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25th. NO INDIVIDUAL DECK ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED.

WEEKEND WORKOUT CHANGE
This Saturday's practice at Glassell (July 5th) has been cancelled. Thanks to Jim Rhyne's email to mail, I was alerted that Glassell scheduled a swim meet this Saturday. VNSO also has a swim meet. Therefore, in the eleventh hour, and with the national holiday tomorrow, I have no choice but to cancel practice. (I'm thinking attendance wouldn't be so great anyway though, right?)
FYI, Glassell also has another swim meet next Saturday (July 12th). However, with a little more time to find an alternative, hopefully we can practice somewhere else, so STAY TUNED.
Also, for the water polo team, VNSO just notified me that they are hosting diving meets for the next five Sundays (July 6th - August 3rd) so the deep end of the pool will be unavailable until 12:00pm. They forgot this detail when our permits were approved. Anyhow, now you get to sleep in!!! Practice will be from 12:00-2:00pm during this time, starting THIS SUNDAY.
The swim team practice will be unaffected by this swim meet, and will continue as normally scheduled, from 9:00-11:00am.

Mission Viejo Relay Meet, Sunday, July 13th
Mission Viejo will be hosting a relay meet on Sunday, July 13th. Here's your chance to swim any or all of the relays and set some records! Everything will be deck entered, so make plans now to bring some of your teammates down for a LOT of relays.
